Types Of Coils
Pharmaceutical coil is available in three types of fiber: Cotton, Rayon and Polyester. Each provides distinct advantages and applications.

Cotton coil is composed of 100% bleached, absorbent cotton. It is selected for its clean, uniform fibers and is designed to give superior performance in packaging of pharmaceutical products.

Rayon coil is formulated of 100% rayon fibers providing a uniform fiber coil.

Polyester coil is a white, odorless, soft, uniformly carded, low moisture, resilient material.

Easier with cutting cottoner equipment Easier with tearing cotton equipment (rayon tends to dull knives in cutting operation) Non-fluorescent
Absorbent - will absorb 22 times its weight in moisture, and moisture regain is 8.0% under normal conditions Absorbent - will absorb 22 times its weight in moisture, and moisture regain is 9.0% to 11.0% under normal conditions Non-absorbent - will neither introduce into or extract moisture from bottle, and moisture regain is .4% under normal conditions
